Court Assessment and Prosecutions Officer - Dandenong

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to community safety and rehabilitation of individuals in our care
  • Conduct court assessments to determine an individual's suitability for a court order, facilitate the variation or cancellation of an order, or prosecute individuals who fail to comply with orders
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based advice to the judiciary in relation to sentencing
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for individuals and the community
  • Manage individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required
To Be Successful In This Role
  • Experience or knowledge of court processes, prosecutions or related areas
  • An ability to provide human services in needs assessment and development of interventions
  • Capability to provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to the court that maximise offender responsiveness interventions
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to manage individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required

A relevant qualification in social work, law, human services, criminal justice or criminology and experience in a court advice, assessments or prosecutions field is also desirable.
