Building Elite AI, Product & Software Engineering Teams

Location: Greater Sydney – Hybrid

Reports to: CloudOps Engineering Manager

The Opportunity:

This isn't backend support, it's national infrastructure. Built and run by a small, high-impact Cloud Ops team inside Australia's largest locally owned media group. You'll work alongside SREs and DevOps engineers to build, run, and improve the cloud platform that powers publishing, broadcast, data, and digital products used by millions every day.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Running and scaling Kubernetes infrastructure in production
  • Improving reliability, observability, and operational tooling
  • Building clean, secure delivery pipelines with Terraform, CDK, and CI/CD tooling
  • Driving cost efficiency and operational maturity across AWS and GCP
  • Partnering with product, cyber, data, and AI teams on cross-cutting initiatives
  • Championing shift-left security and infrastructure-as-code best practices

What you bring:

  • Strong background in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure, with deep hands-on experience in AWS or GCP (compute, storage, networking, security)
  • Proficient in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI)
  • Skilled in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and core networking protocols
  • Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash) and excellent troubleshooting skills
  • AWS or GCP certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect) - Highly desirable
