TESS Search Partners are proud to be engaged to appoint a Manufacturing Operations Manager for Key Tubing & Electrical, a South Australian-owned manufacturer known for ingenuity, quality and collaboration. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a pivotal leadership position overseeing end-to-end production and warehouse operations, managing a team of skilled shop floor employees, in a values-focused, reputable production facility based in Melrose Park.

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will lead and mentor production teams to deliver on-time, high-quality outcomes while managing production schedules, labour planning, and warehouse operations through their ERP system (Pronto). The role is responsible for overseeing both high-volume production and high-mix, low-volume bespoke assemblies, ensuring staff are supported with clear work instructions and training. A key focus will be championing continuous improvement through Lean tools such as 5S, visual work instructions, and workflow optimisation, as well as collaborating closely with engineering on new product onboarding and production cells. The position also requires maintaining a strong safety culture, fostering team morale, and contributing to strategic planning and operational growth.

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in leading teams across both large-scale production runs and small-batch, complex assemblies, with a strong ability to estimate production costs, manage warehouse operations, and drive process improvements. You will be adept at applying ERP and scheduling systems to coordinate multiple concurrent jobs and will have a solid technical background, either electrical or mechanical, with experience in moulding, electrical assembly, or tube processing considered beneficial. The role requires capability in monitoring production rates and efficiencies, managing DIFOT performance, and supporting the transition from paper-based work orders to more automated systems.
