We are currently seeking a dynamic and organised individual with a passion for event management.
A little bit about the role
As the Events Officer, you will be responsible for collaborative planning, logistics and permits to realise identified civic events and projects, while also supporting community organisations in presenting successful and safe large-scale festivals and events.
In this role, you will develop and implement event plans for major and high-risk events identified by Council. Supporting the Project and Office Lead, you will also drive service improvement for internal and external event organisers through stakeholder management, policy development, sector expertise, consultation and strategic communications. You will support and refer event organisers to relevant permits, teams and booking processes in line with Council's policies and services.
Assisting with the planning and delivery of identified Council events, supporting other department projects or contracts including Christmas Decorations, will also be part of your responsibilities. Finally, you will provide advice and support to the team, department and community on best practice events management and compliance with regulations.
A little bit about you
Your excellent communication skills enable you to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, from community groups to government agencies. You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Your ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously ensures that events are executed smoothly and successfully.
Employment Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of events planning and implementation processes, particularly in outdoor settings.
- Strong working knowledge of events logistics & production, including relevant regulations, occupational health and safety and risk management.
- Proven conflict management skills to assist in dispute resolution.
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
- Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and hold a valid Working with Children Clearance.
