The roleThis key role is pivotal in ensuring that Flinders Christian Community College fulfils its mission, purpose, and strategic direction through excellence in financial stewardship, operational leadership, and strong governance. You will drive informed commercial decisions and seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This key role will enable change and growth, setting the College up for continuous improvement and furthering their impressive success.
Reporting directly to the Executive Principal, and working closely with the broader College Executive Leadership Team, the Director of Business will lead four direct reports in providing strategic oversight and management across key domains including Business and Finance, Facilities, Assets & Resources, Workplace Health and Safety, Risk, Governance and Compliance. The role also acts as Company Secretary to the College Board.
Responsibilities- Leading the finance function, including budgeting & reporting
- Financial & Management reporting
- Strategic & operational management
- Property & asset management, including capital works & contract management
Essential Skills & Experience
- CPA or CA accreditation (post-graduate qualifications highly regarded)
- Extensive business leadership experience, ideally in independent education or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, and WHS
- Understanding of Commonwealth and State education funding models
- Familiarity with Synergetic (preferred)
- Leadership style & values fit
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- Committed to collaboration, strategic thinking, and servant leadership
- Demonstrated alignment with Christian values and the College's mission
