We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The School

Geographe Education Support Centre is located in Busselton and caters for students with a range of disabilities from Kindergarten to Year 12. Throughout their school years, our students have amazing opportunities. They will learn how to care for themselves, be responsible, stay safe, protect themselves and be confident and caring individuals. They will actively engage in their communities through caring for the environment, joining teams, becoming great workers and volunteering.

In addition to learning skills to live an interesting and fulfilling life, students will be encouraged to make friends and contribute to their community. Through communication, problems solving, learning about the world, and conducting investigations, they will develop lifelong learning skills.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally use explicit teaching strategies and exhibit effective classroom management skills to enhance student learning and wellbeing. Applicants should also be flexible, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to professional learning and a high-level of participation in collaborative team planning. We are looking for teachers who can thrive in a close knit small team of teachers.

They should plan, program, and assess using an integrated curriculum, differentiated to meet individual student needs. Applicants will also ideally have highly effective teaching practices, an ability to self-reflect and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice.

We are seeking applicants who are hardworking and knowledgeable about a range of disabilities and the implementation of strategies to support and enhance individual development in all areas. Teachers in an education support environment positively manage a team of Education Assistants to create a safe and supportive learning environment for students. They engage with and contribute to the school community and work collaboratively with families, therapists, and outside agencies to improve student outcomes. Good team management and problem solving skills are highly regarded.
