Guidera O'Connor (GO) is a privately owned design and construct contractor with a track record delivering water and wastewater treatment projects in Australia. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water. GO is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Western Australian team. You will operate in a forward-facing role within the Guidera O'Connor Project Delivery structure, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to lead, manage, plan and oversee project-based operations and activities.
You will apply industry practices, legislation and standards for safe, compliant and effective project delivery. Your ability to influence, coach, critically assess and anticipate issues is of utmost importance. Your performance will be evaluated on the successful delivery of assigned projects or programs, demonstrating leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial and technical expertise.
Responsibilities- Deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Deliver best quality projects in a timely manner.
- Deliver projects profitably.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Work with the Design Manager to ensure designs are completed in accordance with Project Requirements and the Construction Program.
- Procure equipment and subcontract resources at competitive prices while effectively managing labour and subcontract resources.
- Demonstrate experience managing a major capital works project in excess of $30M to $50M.
- Have experience managing incentivised target cost or similar.
- Have a PMI or APM Certification.
- Be willing to travel as work may be metro or regional.
- Have a strong background in Water and Wastewater infrastructure.
- Understand critical success factors for project delivery and drive progress proactively.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and navigate challenging conversations when necessary.
- Provide effective leadership and recognise the impact on team performance and morale.
- Make informed and timely decisions based on available data and context.
- Engage with stakeholders through clear, consistent communication to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Develop logical, well-structured project schedules with realistic timelines and dependencies.
- Prepare comprehensive budgets and provide accurate monthly cost forecasts, ensuring financial control.
- Understand construction risks and opportunities and implement timely mitigation strategies.
- Know contractual obligations and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Adhere to relevant legal, corporate and procedural HSEQ requirements.
- Collaborate effectively across functions and promote a win-win approach to teamwork and conflict resolution.
- Embrace change as a catalyst for improvement and understand its necessity in organizational growth.
- An ability to travel across Perth and regional Western Australia.
