Additional Information:
- This opportunity is temporary (until May 2026), full-time 76 hours per fortnight
- Applications close Thursday, 7 August 2025
- Availability to work 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or public holiday shifts
- Pre-employment checks, including a National Police Check, are required for final candidates
As an Interior Design Co-worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Using your passion for home furnishing to position the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market
- Communicating and implementing your home furnishing knowledge to create inspiring solutions for customers through in-room settings, homes, vignettes, and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity
- Stimulating interest in home furnishing by showcasing new and inspiring solutions to motivate repeat visits
- Setting up new room settings, including painting, lighting, and propping
- Using IKEA's product range to showcase various styles appealing to diverse tastes and needs
- Reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in commercial, sales support, and co-worker areas
As an Interior Design Co-worker, you are or have:
- A passion for home furnishing and improving people's lives at home, with the ability to inspire and transform living spaces
- A hands-on approach, comfortable implementing designs on the shop floor using ladders and power tools
- Strong communication skills to guide peers and influence stakeholders towards design goals
- A proactive attitude towards completing tasks and self-development alongside daily operational duties
- Ability to deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment
- Professional experience with design software such as SketchUp, Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Minimum tertiary qualification (Diploma level) in design (architecture, interior, or industrial design preferred)
- At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar interior designer role, residential or retail home furnishing experience preferred
