Overview

Base pay range: A$110,000.00/yr

Location: Australia (QLD, NSW, VIC, or SA) with work-from-home flexibility negotiable. Max-term contract to 6th March 2027, 0.8 FTE Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm AEST. Salary: A$110,000 + super and benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Online Counselling: Provide high quality, evidence-based digital counselling support to a proportionate caseload of young people aged 12-25, and parents/carers/kin of children 0-25 years, who have a cancer experience.
  • Organisational Requirements: Support the delivery of Cancer Hub's Strategic Plan and overall organisational goals and KPIs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure access to needed supports.
  • Leadership: Lead, build and develop a team of autonomous counsellors to deliver high quality therapeutic and case management interventions; provide leadership support to other teams within Cancer Hub and Canteen as required.
  • Program Development: Lead the growth and development of online community Canteen Connect; contribute to processes and procedures for delivering the Cancer Hub program in alignment with the Strategic Plan and funding agreements.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling.
  • Current registration with AHPRA (Psychologist) or eligibility for membership of the AASW, PACFA, ACA, or similar.
  • Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo National Criminal History Police Clearance.
Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in clinical practice within the mental health/youth health field, including digital service delivery.
  • Demonstrated management/leadership experience within health or community sector; remote team experience preferred.
  • Experience in grief, loss and bereavement counselling with knowledge of relevant theories.
  • Strong networking and collaboration with other service providers.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Salesforce (CMS), and other web-based systems.
  • Willingness to travel interstate if required.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and a compassionate approach to supporting young people.

Additional requirements

  • Successful candidate must complete and maintain a current National Police Check and Working with Children Check relevant to state/jurisdiction.
  • Undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment.
