About the role

Mater is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Billing Officer to join the team at our Newstead campus on a full-time, or part-time (0.8 FTE) maximum term contract (11 months). This position offers the chance to play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes that support high-quality patient care, all within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and complete billing documentation to record all relevant charges
  • Enter CMBS item numbers, prosthesis items, and reconcile billing data
  • Liaise with practice managers, billing, and supply staff to ensure accuracy
  • Run reports, perform reconciliations, and support strong working relationships across teams
About you

You will be a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, committed to delivering outstanding service. To be successful, you will bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of CMBS numbers and prosthesis items
  • Experience in health fund billing and/or debtor management
  • Strong data entry, administrative, and billing/accounting skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
