The Role :

Location : Welshpool WA

Duration : 48-month full-time Apprenticeship

As a Mechanical Engineer Apprentice, this role will see you being exposed to a range of machinery and tasks throughout the workshop, ensuring that all equipment and machinery are running efficiently and safely, repairing where required.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include :

• Perform maintenance, service and repairs
• Assemble and fit fabricated products
• Diagnostics of faults and troubleshooting
• Welding and mechanical tasks
• Use specialised equipment and tools
• General warehouse duties

About You :

To be successful in this Apprenticeship, you'll need to :

• Be a hands-on learner
• Have a reliable and punctual work ethic
• Have an eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Thrive working in team environments
• Love learning new systems and procedures
• Possess good physical fitness to perform manual tasks

Eligibility Criteria :

• Identify as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander
• National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
• Driver's licence with reliable vehicle and Forklift licence (or willing to obtain)
• Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
• Previous experience or pre-vocational certificate (desirable)

Maxima's First Nations Employment Team is here to provide culturally safe and relationship-based practices to build your capacity in being deadly and successful. We provide a collaborative approach when providing coaching and mentoring in First Nations Traineeships and Apprenticeships, with regular in person visits and continuous support.
