Lead Meaningful Projects While Staying Grounded in Core Ranger WorkAre you an experienced ranger looking to take the next step in your career?
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is seeking a highly capable and motivated OO6 Ranger to lead the delivery of key conservation and community-focused initiatives across the Wide Bay region — all while staying hands-on with core ranger responsibilities.
In this unique role, you'll work alongside the Principal Ranger and associated work units to manage and deliver priority funded projects that align with regional business plans. These projects may include high-value conservation work, visitor infrastructure improvements, and initiatives that meet community and environmental expectations.
While project management and stakeholder engagement will be central to your role, you'll also continue to contribute to essential on-ground operations—including fire, pest, and visitor management—supporting the broader ranger team in delivering integrated land management outcomes.
We're looking for an experienced ranger with strong project coordination skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine passion for protecting Queensland's natural and cultural heritage. If you're ready to broaden your impact while remaining deeply connected to the land, this is your opportunity to make a lasting difference.
