Have you been waiting to make a difference? We're looking to recruit a leader to our team of dedicated rangers working in the management of Natural Resources and wongari risk mitigation in the K'gari Recreation Area within Coastal & Islands Region.

Join our dedicated team and make a meaningful impact by contributing to the long-term sustainability and conservation of the protected area's natural and cultural values of our breathtaking coastal islands. As a Ranger in Charge leading a diverse team, you will work in a stunning environment while actively participating in efforts to safeguard the region's beauty and heritage with our First Nation partners. Collaborate with like-minded individuals to develop and implement sustainable conservation and risk management strategies.

About You

We're seeking an individual passionate about conservation, species management, and collaboration. Your leadership will be key in managing priorities, motivating your team, and achieving outcomes in a dynamic environment.

To be successful, you will also have:
  • Ability to manage planning and evaluation programs including conservation and risk strategies.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate diverse staff and partners.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships with stakeholders, especially First Nation communities.
  • Problem-solving, reactive management, and resolution skills.
  • High-level writing, data management, and presentation skills.
  • Capacity to embrace technology.
  • Flexibility, openness to new experiences, and development opportunities.
  • A passion for safeguarding the environment for Queenslanders.
