Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Cook to join our dynamic team at the Sydney International Lounges. This role involves providing high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment, primarily in a buffet setting. Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of a team responsible for delivering excellent products to our lounge guests. This position is ideal for someone studying cookery or an experienced cook looking to gain extra hours.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing, cooking, and serving food for the breakfast buffet with variety and flair.
  2. Managing stock rotation and minimizing wastage following stock control procedures.
  3. Assisting in ingredient preparation, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring.
  4. Following Food Safety protocols diligently.
  5. Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of all work areas; washing dishes during service.
  6. Ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned; reporting issues to the CDP and General Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Food safety certificate required.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for exceptional food experiences.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent is advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must have full working rights within Australia.
  • Ability to pass a federal police background security check.
