Project description

The available PhD and postdoctoral positions are focused on the study of electron-photon interactions within electron microscopes, with a particular emphasis on developing novel methods in ultrafast electron microscopy and spectroscopy. This research is funded by the ERC Starting Grant eWaveShaper and hosted by Charles University.

The research seeks to address fundamental and applied challenges in understanding and manipulating the interactions between electrons and photons at ultrafast timescales. Ultrafast electron microscopy and spectroscopy are transformative technologies that enable the visualization and analysis of dynamic processes at the atomic and molecular level, with implications for materials science, nanotechnology, and quantum physics.

The project is led within the framework of the ERC Starting Grant eWaveShaper and is hosted by Charles University. The research group fosters collaboration and innovation, providing a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for electron microscopy and ultrafast laser physics. The positions are supervised by Dr. Martin Kozak.

Ideal candidates
