The Opportunity
Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract as a Clinical Development Manager based in our Macquarie office. Although based in MQ, regional internal applications encouraged. In this role, the successful Clinical Development Manager will play a critical role in creating, developing, and implementing clinical strategies to ensure products not only achieve regulatory approval but are also clinically impactful throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and contribute to clinical program strategies that support product approval and lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align portfolio strategies with business objectives.
- Design clinical investigations, oversee study documentation, and maintain clinical strategies.
- Support training initiatives to ensure compliance and alignment across study sites.
- Engage in data collation, analysis, and clinical alignment to bridge knowledge gaps.
- Advocate for portfolio strategies and optimise collaboration across project teams.

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Background in the medical device/pharmaceutical industry with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Degree level education (preferably health related or science).
- Proven experience as a Clinical Project Manager, Clinical Research Specialist, or Research Audiologist in medical devices.
- Expertise in study design and knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., ISO13485, ISO14155, MDR, FDA21CFR820).
- Strong report writing and technical communication skills.
- Resilient, resourceful, and solution-oriented.
- Familiarity with data management and interpretation.
Ideal:
- Experience in writing clinical protocols, investigation reports, and planning evidence strategies for regulatory submissions.
- Commercial acumen and knowledge of hearing science practices.
