Opportunity for driven Postdoctoral Researchers to join SAiGENCI in two exciting new positions focusing on the role of the immune system in cancer.

SAiGENCI is an independent cancer-focused medical research institute located in South Australia, specializing in cancer research linked to clinical trials, including cutting-edge technologies in immunotherapies and genomics.

The projects in the Tumour Inflammation and Immunotherapy Program at SAiGENCI combine molecular biological and genetic approaches with human translational studies to identify mechanisms by which immune system regulators lead to inflammation-associated cancers of the stomach, lung, and pancreas. Our studies also employ biomaterials and nanotechnology-based approaches to modulate the immune system and develop translational immunotherapy strategies in cancer.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, nucleic acid isolation, and DNA/RNA/protein analyses.
  • Proven ability to work with complex model systems in vitro and in vivo.
  • Evidence of research contributions such as publications, conference presentations, reports, or technical contributions.
  • Ability to advise, support, and supervise Higher Degree by Research students.
  • Experience in collaborating locally and nationally to enhance research outcomes.
  • Ability to quickly learn new techniques and creatively solve experimental challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of basic statistics.
