General Manager - Merchandising (Electrical Products)

About the Role
As the General Manager of Merchandising, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive merchandising strategies to drive sales, optimize product placement, and enhance the customer experience. You'll oversee both large-format retail stores and small trade wholesalers, ensuring a cohesive and profitable merchandising strategy that aligns with the brand's goals. In this leadership role, you will guide a talented team, collaborate with key cross-functional teams and work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Developing long-term merchandising strategies that maximize sales and profitability.
- Managing vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and exclusive product offerings.
- Leading and mentoring the merchandising team to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
- Collaborating with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment across all merchandising efforts.
- Driving customer-centric merchandising initiatives that enhance the in-store experience.
About You
We're looking for a seasoned leader with a strong background in merchandising and retail management. You have a proven track record in a senior leadership role, excelling in developing strategies that drive both sales and customer satisfaction. Your ability to analyze market trends, manage budgets, and collaborate across teams will be key to your success in this role. You're a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about mentoring and developing a high-performance team.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, retail management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- Strong data analysis skills, financial acumen, and experience with multiple merchandising software systems.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional in-store experiences.
