About the role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Home Ownership, the role is responsible for advising on risks and end-to-end controls required to deliver the implementation across the Help to Buy Program and the ongoing review of risk and controls for Home Guarantee Scheme. You will assist the delivery of the program(s), oversee and challenge risk assessments and control design and operation, monitor control plans and control self-assessments as well as provide oversight and challenge for the development of control objectives, control milestones and any required control remediation.

Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for the oversight of the Business Unit Risk Assessments and Risk Profiles
  • Work with the Program to develop Risk Mitigation Action Plans where required
  • Carry out walkthroughs of processes to support the business in identifying significant risks and controls
  • Oversee the operational risk incident management process to ensure that timeliness, integrity, and quality control are maintained
  • Undertaken appropriate review of the financial impact of operational incidents and root cause and business impact analysis
  • Oversee the consistent implementation of policies and procedures
Skills and experience
  • 5+ years in a control function, Operations, Technology or Assurance, Internal or External Audit, gained within a dynamic international financial institution, financial services firm or within a professional services environment
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment and possess the commercial experience and analytical mindset to make sound recommendations on operational risk issues
  • Ability to partner with stakeholders to influence favourable outcomes and enable positive business engagement through effective communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and uncover hidden insights
