Storage, the core of Microsoft's Azure Cloud, provides 10 exabytes of capacity across 50 regions, 100+ data centers, and over 1000 storage clusters. It powers millions of virtual machines, holds millions of hours of video, billions of photos, and vast amounts of analytics data.
As a Software Engineer in Azure Storage, you will play a key role in defining the technical direction of the most complex pieces of Azure Storage, while delivering continued improvements as well as pathbreaking features at a high quality. You will work on the latest server technologies and highly distributed systems, focusing on reliability, scalability, performance, and debuggability.

Responsibilities- Work with stakeholders to determine user requirements for features.
- Support identification of dependencies and develop design documents for product features with oversight.
- Learn to create and implement code for products, services, or features, reusing code as applicable.
- Assist in breaking down work items into tasks and provide estimations.
- Monitor system/product/service for issues and recommend actions to restore functionality following established procedures.
- Review developments and seek knowledge to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products, while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with proven experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet security screening requirements, including passing Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years.
- Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of experience in coding in relevant languages, or Master's Degree with proven experience, or equivalent experience.
