Build your career. Power your community. Shape your future.

Looking for a hands-on career where you can work outdoors, solve problems, and make a real impact in your community? As a Lineworker Apprentice with Western Power in Moora, you'll help power local homes and businesses - all while living in one of WA's key agricultural and community-focused regional towns.

What We Offer

  • Paid, full-time apprenticeship with long-term career pathways
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Safety-first culture and 1-on-1 mentoring
  • Diverse, inclusive team
  • Opportunities across metro and regional WA

What Does a Lineworker Do?

Lineworkers build, maintain, and repair the overhead powerlines that supply electricity across WA. You'll work outdoors in a team, doing physical, hands-on tasks like:

  • Installing and maintaining powerlines
  • Climbing poles or using elevated work platforms
  • Replacing poles, conductors, and transformers
  • Safely isolating and switching the network
  • Assisting with power restoration after storms or faults

About the Apprenticeship

This 4-year program combines:

  • On-the-job training alongside experienced Lineworkers
  • Classroom-based learning to develop technical skills

By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll gain a nationally recognised trade qualification and be ready for a long-term career in the energy industry.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking motivated, safety-focused individuals who enjoy active work and want to build a meaningful career.

You'll need to:

  • Have completed Year 11 (including passes in English and Maths)
  • Hold a WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence
  • Be 18+ by 9 February 2026
  • Communicate well and work in a team
  • Show strong work ethic and commitment to safety

A Certificate III pre-apprenticeship is a bonus, but not essential.

What to Expect

The recruitment process includes:

  • Psychometric testing and interview
  • Literacy and numeracy assessment
  • Medical, drug and alcohol screening
