About the Role
The Grade 3 Subacute Speech Pathologist will provide high-quality services and clinical leadership within the Speech Pathology department across rehabilitation and GEM wards at the Kew and/or Fitzroy campus.
This position involves clinical expertise in subacute speech pathology management of patients with communicative and swallowing disorders. The role is key in supporting and mentoring Grade 2 and Grade 1 Speech Pathologists within the team.
Responsibilities include:
- Strong leadership and contribution to the strategic plan and vision of the department
- Assessment and management of patients in accordance with departmental clinical policies and Speech Pathology Australia standards
- Ensuring speech pathology services are based on the latest evidence
- Opportunities for training and development
Classifications for this position will range from VW6 to VW9 ($102,091 - $116,646 pro rata per annum).
Your Contribution
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), Bachelor of Speech Pathology, or equivalent
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and knowledge of its standards
- Current National criminal history check or willingness to obtain
- At least 7 years' experience in adult Speech Pathology
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and build stakeholder relationships
