The Role
Ocean Reef SHS is seeking an experienced, innovative and passionate Home Economics Teacher. This is an opportunity to join a high performing and well-resourced teaching team that adopts a collegial and supportive approach.
To be successful in this role, you will deliver and assess the Western Australian Home Economics curriculum to Year 12. Subjects include Food Science & Technology (Years 8–12), Textiles and Child Development (Year 9 leading into Year 11 and 12), Children, Family & Community and Certificate III in Tourism. Within the broader Technologies team, willingness to deliver lower-school Digital Technologies (Years 7 & 8) is an advantage.
The successful applicant should have highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and the community. You should engage in reflective practice and commit to whole-school pedagogical approaches. Effective classroom management, differentiation to meet individual student needs and promoting an active, positive learning environment are key expectations.

Eligibility
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
