About the team – The mental health team supports individuals to experience positive mental health within the Australian high performance sport system. They provide education and support to ensure our people feel supported both in and out of the sporting arena.
About the role – Working with the Sport Wellbeing and Engagement Branch, this role supports the delivery of the ASC's high performance sport Wellbeing and Engagement program, focusing on mental health. You will assist with the operation of the AIS Mental Health Referral Network, deliver mental health education, and help stakeholders optimize athlete wellbeing.
About you – You will have:
- Full Registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse.
- Registration with AHPRA or relevant governing body.
- Experience in delivering mental health education in group settings.
- Experience in triaging and referring mental health cases.
- Knowledge of current professional networks and referral options.
- Updated knowledge of issues impacting mental health and wellbeing in high performance sport.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet team strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively, share information, communicate transparently, and respect team members.
- Ability to develop rapport and network with stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience in policy development or program evaluation.
- Experience in high performance sport or government organizations.
This is a FIXED TERM 0.6 FTE position until 30 June 2026, with potential for extension or permanency.
