Principal Advisor (Technical Lead, Flood Risk Management)

About The Team

The Hazard and Risk unit develops disaster risk management approaches in Queensland, providing scientifically informed hazard and risk information to support disaster risk reduction and management. The unit includes Flood Risk Management, GIS, and Disaster Risk Management teams.

About The Role
  • Provide expert technical input into projects like flood studies, risk management plans, and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop project briefs with scope and technical specifications.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including external consultants and government representatives.
  • Plan, monitor, and report on project progress, ensuring compliance with funding and reporting guidelines.
  • Manage project risks and issues, and support procurement processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, especially local governments and agencies.
  • Lead and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
