Who You Are

You are an experienced and results-driven Operations & Maintenance Superintendent with a proven track record overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and repair of complex systems and facilities. You understand mechanical, electrical, and operational systems and excel at leading teams to ensure performance, safety, and compliance. You bring leadership, problem-solving, and multi-project management to drive operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Directs work groups and units engaged in planning, construction, maintenance, operation, repair, renovation, alteration, and demolition of buildings, structures, equipment, machinery, and facilities.
• Obtains, evaluates, and may negotiate bids from outside engineering, architectural, and construction firms.
• Establishes schedules and budgetary controls, allocates expenditures, and oversees coordination of major construction activities with engineering, contracts, and government agencies.
• Ensures compliance with contract specifications, insurance requirements, and local building codes.
• Reviews and approves architectural and engineering drawings.
• Participates in department strategic planning; ensures needed skills are available.
• Develops and maintains relationships with other engineering organizations to stay current with developments.
• Interprets and recommends modifications to organizational policies and corporate initiatives.
• Establishes and maintains quality systems and instills values and ethics.
• Hires, manages dismissals, conducts performance evaluations, and plans salary increases; handles discipline and documentation as needed.
• Sets department and individual performance goals; reviews performance; coaches and trains subordinates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a US or Australian Citizen
• Must possess a US TS/SCI with Polygraph or AUS PV Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or technical equivalent and a minimum of 8 years directly related facilities experience. In lieu of formal education, 16 years of directly related experience. 4 years of specialized military experience can substitute for a BA/BS degree
• Attention to detail; precision and adherence to safety standards
• Adaptability to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements
• Decision-making ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure

Location: Alice Springs. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
