Location: Sydney NSW

Salary Package: $110,000 – 140,000 + Super
Role Highlights: Review and assess claims and quantum for a varied portfolio across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Middle East and beyond.

This is a great opportunity for a Reinsurance Technician or Property Claims specialist to step into a role that includes Quality Assurance and Claims Review.

Role Overview

The organisation is a fast-growing Insurance & Reinsurance business with a focus across the Middle East, Asia and Australia & New Zealand. Primarily writing Property, Energy and Construction risks the organisation has built a high performing claims team to support this growth and are now ready to add an extra Claims Consultant within their team.

Reporting to the Head of Claims, you will be responsible for reviewing claims files as they come through, providing recommendations and guidance where appropriate. Day to day you will be working with Insurers' claims teams and Brokers to ensure the business agrees with any decisions made on both coverage and quantum.

From time to time, you may be required to re-assess claims files and do your own investigations into incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Review claims files and decisions made by cedants
  • Review and assess quantum of claims to ensure appropriate reserves are applied
  • Reporting both locally and regionally on bordereaux basis for each binder agreement in place
  • Assess and manage specific claims as required, utilising your claims process knowledge to make and refer decisions
  • Working with and instructing experts within the Loss Adjusting, Surveying and Legal fields to ensure best practice on decisions and quantum

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you will be a Property or Reinsurance Claims Specialist with a high degree of numeracy and attention to detail.

  • At least 3 years' experience managing and assessing Commercial Property Claims or in a Reinsurance Technician capacity
  • Some experience working with Third parties such as Brokers and Adjusters
  • A high degree of financial acumen in calculating schedule values and quantum for reserving
  • An excellent writing style for professional letter writing and email correspondence
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all activities
