Grand Pacific Health (GPH) is a for-purpose community-based organisation. GPH provides high quality health services to assist people in the management of their physical and mental health. GPH's mission is to provide equitable health care with an emphasis on helping vulnerable and at-risk populations as well as regional communities.

GPH employs over 400 staff including qualified health professionals, peer workers, and community workers. GPH operates across a large regional area in NSW and ACT.

About The Position

Medicare Mental Health Centre Moruya is a collaboration between Grand Pacific Health, Directions Health, Katungul Aboriginal Corporation, and the Family Place. We provide evidence-based assessment, care coordination, information, support, and treatment to people experiencing psychological distress, their families, carers, and support networks. The Centre offers immediate, short to medium-term episodes of care and service navigation. Our multidisciplinary team adopts a holistic and collaborative approach to address social, physical, and emotional needs.

The Community Engagement Officer will lead efforts to promote understanding of the Centre's services and mental health awareness through community activities. They will represent the Centre at forums and events, develop local partnerships, and lead consumer participation initiatives. The role is full-time, fixed-term until 30 June 2026, with options for a Rostered Day Off each month.

We Are Looking For Someone With

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with groups, including public speaking, tailored to specific audiences.
  • Understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use issues.
  • Knowledge of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTI populations.
