Commercial Associate

Uluu is a Western Australian startup creating the world's first truly compelling alternative to plastic. We produce natural materials, called PHAs, that behave like plastic but are made from seaweed, not fossil fuels. They're biodegradable, non-toxic, and climate positive at scale. We're hiring a Commercial Associate to join our growing team and play a key role in bringing our breakthrough material to the world.

Position overview

As our Commercial Associate, you will support customer acquisition and commercial growth, with a strong focus on turning prospects into long-term partners. The role involves working closely with our co-founders and co-CEOs to support sales, marketing, supply chain and finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Sales. Support customer engagement, shaping commercial terms and closing deals.
• Commercial growth. Drive commercial growth by identifying opportunities, managing the pipeline, and informing strategy through analysis and modelling.
• Fund raising. Contribute to fundraising efforts by preparing investor materials and supporting due diligence.
• Special projects. Own and execute high-impact projects that keep the business moving forward.

Experience and skills

• Proven experience (4+ years) in management consulting, investment banking/ finance, law or operating roles in startups or scale-ups. Could be early-career or more experienced depending on fit.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Good attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Genuine passion for sustainability and a drive to contribute to technologies that positively impact the planet.
