Our client is one of the largest family farming groups in South Australia and New South Wales. They are currently seeking multiple experienced Heavy Diesel and Motor Mechanics to join their successful team in South Australia. The role involves assisting the workshop with mechanical repairs on all brands of vehicles and machinery.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Heavy Diesel and Motor Mechanic will be responsible for diagnostic and repair work on both heavy and light vehicles.

About the Position

The Heavy Diesel and Motor Mechanic is responsible for service, maintenance, and repair work on both heavy and light vehicles.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure reactive and preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair requirements are met according to maintenance schedules (including oil changes, transmission fluids, air filters, tire changes, etc.)
  • Identify, test, and repair various mechanical and electrical failures on vehicles and machinery
  • Fault diagnostics and testing parts
  • Perform repairs and replace defective or worn parts
  • Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, then check parts
  • Reassemble engines and components after repair

Qualifications required:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Qualified mechanic (AQF Certificate III or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of full-time experience
  • Good attention to detail
  • Intermediate or above computer skills
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to comply with all OHS policies and procedures
  • Motivated and target-driven

An attractive remuneration package will be offered based on the applicant's experience.

The salary range is between $80,000 and $100,000 per annum + Superannuation.
