The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Legal Assistant to support two Partners plus team in the Disputes practice of this highly recognised, global law firm. As a key member of a high-performing team, you will play a vital role in keeping matters on track, managing complex billing requirements, and providing exceptional administrative support.

Overview

The Disputes practice is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where no two days are ever the same. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Partners and team, including time entries, reporting, and complex billing. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Partners' calendars, creating and managing documents, and organising client catch-ups.

Required Skills

  • Experience supporting Partners in a fast-paced legal environment
  • End-to-end billing experience using Aderant Expert
  • Strong time management and ability to manage competing priorities with a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to anticipate needs and problem solve on the go
  • Matter management experience and use of iManage or similar system
  • Team-focused approach with a genuine regard for client service

Preferred Education and Experience

Minimum of two years experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally within a Disputes practiceThis position is open to both career legal assistants and law studentsLaw students must have relevant experience, coupled with at least two years left to complete their degree

Other Requirements

Availability to work 5 days per week from CBD office, close to Town Hall and St James stationsCore hours : 9 : 00am - 5 : 30pmAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple prioritiesStrong organisational and administrative skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
