As we continue our journey of innovation and community empowerment, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our esteemed Council.

We seek a candidate with extensive specialist skills in Tertiary Education with contemporary knowledge, recent experience and leadership at a senior executive level within a Tertiary Education Institution.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Non-Executive Director with knowledge of a director's responsibilities, including an understanding of the role as well as the legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities.

Role Overview:

As a Council Member, you will play a pivotal role in guiding Victoria University towards continued growth and success. The Council serves as the governing body, entrusted with key responsibilities including strategic direction, financial oversight, risk management, and upholding academic integrity. Your insights and leadership will contribute to shaping the future of our institution.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Collaborate with fellow Council Members to set strategic direction and approve budget allocations.

Ensure effective risk management practices are in place, safeguarding the integrity of our qualifications.

Champion academic freedom and uphold ethical standards in governance.

Drive sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Demonstrate strategic leadership and a strong understanding of corporate governance principles.

Remuneration and Commitments:

Council Members receive remuneration in accordance with State Government Guidelines.

Commitments include five face-to-face Council meetings annually, an annual Council Retreat, and participation in professional development activities.
