The OpportunityThe Government and Public Relations function works closely with the Deputy CEO to ensure representation to and with stakeholder groups and communities is in line with IBA's organisational strategy.

About the roleThe Sponsorship Events and External Relations Manager will be primarily responsible for the administration and delivery of IBA's sponsorship program and events (approximately 85% of the role), with a secondary focus on supporting government and public relations activities (approximately 15%). This role ensures strategic alignment of sponsorships and events with IBA's objectives, while also contributing to stakeholder engagement and public affairs.

The Sponsorship Events and External Relations Manager will ensure all sponsorships adhere to the Sponsorship Procedure and will manage and maintain IBA's stakeholder register (Federal, State governments and community). This role is a key part of the organisation's external relations and will facilitate and support internal delivery to external engagement.

What you'll bring to the teamAwareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.Understanding of IBA products and services.Strong written and oral communication skills.Experience in administration.Experience in event management.Strong time management skills.Previous experience with internal and external stakeholder management.Strategic marketing skills.Good problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking.Knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community advocacy groups and peak bodies.
