Overview

Associate Director, Energy and Infrastructure – Melbourne. Join NAB in a role focused on origination support, credit analysis, deal execution, portfolio risk management, and coaching on Institutional Banking and non-recourse structured project finance transactions across the infrastructure, energy and utilities sector. This position reports to the Director, Client Management & Execution (CME) and is part of the Energy and Infrastructure, CME team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the credit and legal documentation processes to ensure compliance with credit policy and agreed deal terms.
  • Facilitate engagement between Client Coverage, Project Finance, and other Product Partners to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Lead client engagement discussions on risk management and monitoring to provide insightful, factual client operations reporting.
  • Monitor and manage the risk profile and compliance requirements of the client portfolio.
  • Oversee risk profile monitoring and compliance for each client portfolio with the Directorship, ensuring portfolio hygiene.
  • Coach and develop senior associates, associates and analysts to uplift sector knowledge and portfolio management skills.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Passion for the sector with extensive experience in Corporate Finance, Institutional Banking, or Structured Finance lending environments.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification with quantitative disciplines (finance, economics, engineering, actuarial studies) and/or corporate law.
  • Strong skills in financial modelling, credit writing, due diligence, and loan documentation.
  • Experience structuring transactions, preparing credit submissions, and making recommendations on transactions to credit.
  • Ability to manage larger and more complex transactions within the CME Directorship alongside senior team members.
  • Awareness of market risk issues (including legislation).
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide regular guidance and coaching to senior associates, associates and analysts.
