Tax Strategy & Compliance:
- Lead tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return signoff for private equity clients, including multi-state filings and specialized tax considerations for funds and investments.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of partnership and fund tax returns (e.g., Form 1065, K-1), ensuring compliance with regulations while maximizing tax efficiency for private equity structures.
- Work closely with clients to develop and implement tax-efficient strategies that align with investment goals, fund structures, and long-term financial objectives .
- Stay up to date on current tax laws, regulatory changes, and industry best practices, particularly in the private equity space, to deliver strategic and informed tax advice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity fund managers, institutional investors, and other key stakeholders, providing consistent value and expertise to ensure client satisfaction and confidence.
- Provide high-level tax guidance on complex issues such as fund structures, carried interest, and tax planning for investments and distributions.
- Stay current with tax developments relevant to private equity, ensuring clients receive the most accurate , strategic, and timely advice.
- Mentor and develop junior tax staff, reviewing their work and providing guidance on complex tax issues

Required:
- Bachelor's degree required
- CPA or JD required at the senior manager level; preferred at the manager level
- 5 + years of tax experience, with a focus on private equity funds ; P referably within a public accounting firm
- Proven leadership experience with a consistent record of accomplishment, accountability, and history of execution against budget and strategic initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and client-friendly manner
- Initiative to learn, ask questions, operate in a fast-paced environment, challenge the status quo, develop strong relationships internally, and be flexible are required and keys to success
- Understanding of Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, and familiarity with tax software required
- Preferred Locations: Cleveland, Akron, OH; Pittsburgh , PA; Chicago, IL; Detroit or St. Clair Shores, MI
- Prefer a hybrid work environment, but open to remote candidates
