We are seeking talented Specialist Anaesthetists for various roles based in the Melbourne outer metro area and Regional Victoria.

The Consultant Director of Anaesthetics Hamilton position is based at the campus of this hospital.

Full-time or Part-time considered.

This full-time Specialist position primarily focuses on clinical services, with opportunities to engage in academic and teaching activities in collaboration with Deakin University. The university's Medical School has a Rural Clinical School based in the town.

The hospital is a fully integrated facility with 282 beds (216 acute, 36 aged care, 30 mental health). Warrnambool Campus (212 beds) provides acute, rehabilitation, and mental health care, along with outpatient and community services. Wards include medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, a six-bed critical care unit, dialysis, emergency, inpatient psychiatry, GEM, and rehabilitation. There are three fully equipped operating theatres and a separate endoscopy suite. The position will be predominantly clinical, with some management responsibilities.

This is an opportunity to develop areas of interest within anaesthetics, including ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, and quality improvement. The successful applicant will support the team of salaried and VMO specialists in expanding and improving anaesthetic services. Anaesthetist

• Provide clinical expertise in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine across various clinical settings including theatre, acute pain, preadmission clinic, delivery suite, and others.

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role involves providing direction and guidance to the anaesthetic team, supervising trainees, and contributing to clinical services. The hospital is a regional provider in Gippsland, offering a comprehensive range of facilities including a cardiac catheterisation lab, emergency department, endoscopy suites, and modern inpatient units.

Reporting to the Clinical Unit Head, the Staff Specialist will provide anaesthesia services, excluding cardiac, neurosurgery, and transplant surgery. The department is accredited by ANZCA and offers training for up to 24 months. The hospital has 700 beds and provides a wide range of services, including obstetrics, emergency, and off-site services to imaging and ICU. Located just 90 minutes from Melbourne, Bendigo offers a rich regional lifestyle with rivers, lakes, wineries, arts, and outdoor activities.

The Department of Anaesthesia provides elective and emergency services across general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, and obstetrics. The role involves peri-operative care, participating in outpatient clinics, and contributing to departmental education and quality activities. Requirements include FANZCA or equivalent, current registration with AHPRA and ANZCA, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach. The hospital is a large public facility with recent expansions, including new ICUs and wards, located in Melbourne's western suburbs.
