Based at our Rockhampton branch, the 2026 Livestock Career Development program will provide the skills and training you need to be a future leader or technical expert within the Livestock Industry. The program is designed for top talent to gain valuable experience in all aspects of Livestock activity while completing an in-house Certificate in Livestock Marketing. The 24‑month program (roles are all permanent) involves four leadership and skill-building workshops, on-the-ground training, and mentors for ongoing support. You'll have the opportunity to work in both saleyard and branch environments, learning effective selling and relationship-building techniques with guidance from experienced livestock employees and leaders.

Who we're looking for

To be considered for the 2026 Livestock Career Development Program you should have a strong desire to learn and succeed in the Livestock industry, excellent customer service skills, and strong negotiation abilities. In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • Successful completion of Year 12
  • Minimum 24 months experience within the Agricultural industry, ideally in Livestock
  • Willingness to relocate during or at the conclusion of the program
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent resident status – temporary VISA holders are not eligible
  • Vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
  • Genuine interest in working and learning about the Livestock Industry
