The tasks and functions of this position include:

  1. Implement and deliver QPS Safety Management Plans, SWMS and HSE documents including the preparation of safety documents for new projects and the ongoing management of safety documents throughout the duration of the project and as required by the client.
  2. Inspect worksite locations to detect existing or potential accident or health hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures in consultation with the site teams.
  3. Interact effectively with employees and clients at all levels, on site and in the workplace.
  4. Support an employee culture focused on a 'safety first' approach and encourage continuous improvement in HSE outcomes.
  5. Develop and deliver operational and strategic improvement plans for health and safety in the workplace.
  6. Communicate and report on performance of HSE and provide advice and support in all HSE matters.
  7. Ensure regulatory HSE obligations are met and maintain an internal auditing regime.
  8. Maintain up to date storage of employee qualifications, licencing and tickets, ensuring they remain valid, including onboarding of personnel and distribution to clients as required.
  9. Maintain up to date storage of plant and equipment inspections and distribute to clients as required.
  10. Proficiently utilise Microsoft programs: Outlook, Word, Excel and Sharepoint and adapt to the use of client instructed websites and portals as well as improvements in QPS computer tools and systems.
  11. Maintain appropriate and timely communication both internally and externally to the business.
  12. Undertake learning in incident and injury investigation: administration, procedures and regulatory requirements for the purpose of managing and implementing these protocols and systems as well as suitable duty plans for injured workers and liaising with WorkCover as necessary.
  13. Remain organised and prioritise workload as required.
  14. Represent the company in safety groups and programs.
  15. Report to the Directors and Managers as required.

Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety (or willingness to obtain this qualification) is desirable.
