Position Information

Trangie Central School has an enrolment of 172 students, ranging from kindergarten to Year 12, with 48% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school is located 72 km west of Dubbo, with agriculture being one of the main local industries. The school has a high expectations culture for academic attainment, post-school pathways, inclusion, tolerance and kindness. The school strives to offer opportunities to develop each student's strengths, allowing them to excel. The school is committed to continuous improvement of practice, effective collaboration, growing innovation and promoting a growth mindset. The school is dedicated to building a broad range of post-school pathways and community connection, as well as uplifting student achievement in literacy, numeracy and the general capabilities framework skills needed for post-school success and life-long learning.

Specific Selection Criteria
  • 1. Approval to teach Stage 6 Biology and Chemistry.
  • 2. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents to improve student learning outcomes
  • 3. Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and contribute to differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
  • 4. Ability to initiate innovative programs, such as STEM and enrichment programs, that are inclusive of a Central School environment.
  • 5. Commitment to the Department of Education\'s Aboriginal Education policies
