Teaching Opportunity in Science

We are seeking an experienced and qualified teacher to join our school community.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing quality curriculum programs relevant to the Science curriculum, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for their students. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating a learner-centred and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies
  • Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assessing and reporting student progress
  • Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapting practices for equitable education
  • Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encouraging improvement
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to school life
  • Providing student supervision and assisting in organising extracurricular activities
About You (Selection Criteria)

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Experience in teaching Science across various year levels
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW
  • Ability to teach Science, Chemistry and Physics
  • A proven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students
  • The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding
  • Strong classroom management skills, creating a positive learning environment
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using technology to inform, track and report student learning
  • Design programmes and strategies to address the educational needs of our students
  • Expertise in managing student behaviour in a way that supports learning
  • Commitment to the development of a self-improving school culture
  • Understanding and commitment to the ideals of Catholic education
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to diverse learners
