IT Project Manager

Newcastle, NSW | Industrial / Technology | Permanent, Full-Time

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee software and hardware implementation projects while leading and mentoring a talented IT team. This is a career opportunity for someone with strong project management skills, technical know-how, and the resilience to manage stakeholders in challenging environments.

About the Role

  • Oversee end-to-end IT projects, from data survey and requirements analysis through to design, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Lead implementation projects involving both software and hardware (e.g., traffic lights, boom gates, cabling, wiring).
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers and business owners, managing expectations and building trust.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with development staff to ensure successful delivery of projects in line with customer expectations

About you

  • Proven IT project management experience. Ideally delivering software + hardware solutions.
  • Strong people management or leadership potential, with ability to mentor and grow a team.
  • Ability to analyse customer data, map business processes, and translate into IT solutions.
  • Resilient, personable, and confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on technical or implementation background (IT, software, infrastructure, or hardware).
  • Versatility and adaptability to handle multiple projects (typically 3–4 at a time).
