Overview

Land Management Operator role at Ventia. Ventia is a leading infrastructure management and essential services company operating across Australia and New Zealand. In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, we are seeking a Land Management Operator to join our small, close-knit team at Simpson Barracks, Yallambie. This is a permanent, full-time role operating from Monday – Friday. The Land Management Operator is a member of the Land Management team and undertakes daily operational duties to deliver the safe, effective and efficient delivery of land and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Operation of mowers, tractors, small plant, machinery, powered and non-powered hand tools.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of gardens and lawns.
  • Propagation, planting, and revegetation of diverse landscapes.
  • General grounds keeping tasks including debris and rubbish clean-up, cleaning of outdoor features and hardstand areas, line marking, and managing injured or dead wildlife.
  • General gardening including mulching, pruning, hedging, turf care, cleaning of storm water pits and open drains, applying chemicals and fertilisers.
  • Carry out regular inspections and non-technical maintenance, including cleaning of vehicles, grounds equipment and small plant to ensure safety and operational readiness.
Skills & Experience
  • Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent experience. Experience in a similar working environment.
  • Experience operating a tractor (under 4.5 tonnes). Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience working within an Environmental Management System. Problem solving and solutions focused.
  • Good communication skills.
