SPORTS CLUB MANAGER - Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island is seeking an energetic and experienced Sports Club Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Sports Club facilities, including tennis courts, mini-golf, and island gyms. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage staff, drive the fitness program, and ensure our guests, members and employees enjoy first-class fitness experiences.

Reporting to the Island Activities Manager, you'll take responsibility for everything from team rosters and facility upkeep, to leading fitness classes and developing engaging programs. This is a dynamic opportunity to combine your passion for fitness, sport and customer service with leadership and operational management in one of Australia's most iconic destinations.

Where you'll make an impact
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Sports Club, ensuring activities and facilities run smoothly and safely
  • Coordinating staff rosters, inductions, and training so the team can deliver an outstanding guest experience
  • Leading by example – running fitness classes, sports activities, and assisting with special events and group functions
  • Maintaining facilities including tennis, mini-golf and gyms to ensure they are safe, well-presented and welcoming
  • Managing budgets, stock control and reporting while monitoring compliance with safety and security guidelines
  • Responding to guest enquiries and issues with professionalism and care, always aiming to exceed expectations
  • Liaising with other departments and stakeholders to deliver a seamless island-wide guest experience
What we're looking for

You're a motivated and active leader with a genuine passion for fitness and sport, matched by strong people skills and the ability to run an operation with professionalism and flair. This role is ideal if you enjoy variety, thrive in a guest-focused environment, and want to combine your management ability with hands-on fitness delivery.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • Certificate III and IV in Fitness (Essential)
  • Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR (Essential)
  • Current Drivers Licence (Essential)
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a similar role (Desirable)
  • Qualified Yoga Instructor (Highly Desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
