Overview

Tony's Wholesale Flowers are seeking a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Senior Finance Officer to join our high-performing and friendly Finance team on a full-time basis.

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. While experience across both finance and payroll would be ideal, we are also open to candidates who may have strengths in one area but are eager to learn and develop skills in the other.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Group Finance Manager you will have the opportunity to work across payroll, financial, management and bookkeeping functions.
  • Assist and support Accounts Receivable and end-to-end Accounts Payable functions including invoice processing, statement reconciliation, queries and debtor management.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end reconciliations, inter-company transactions, financial reporting, and any other general finance administration.
  • Sound knowledge of inventory management and reporting.
  • Analysing financial data and providing insights to aid in decision-making.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare fortnightly end-to-end payroll processing and related compliance obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and relevant statutory compliance, including the ability to confidently interpreting relevant Awards and apply Fair Work legislative requirements.
  • Assist and co-ordinate with ad-hoc ICT-related support.
What We're Looking For
  • Recognized accounting qualification or relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on work ethic, an eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite and particularly MS Excel. Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding organisational, time management skills with the ability to confidently manage competing priorities and projects at one time.
