The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Hand to join our team in Mitchell ACT. This is full time permanent role with early starts (7.30am), plenty of overtime available and a consistent roster.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily cleanliness and manual handling of the general yard.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing incoming loads
  • Inform and direct the public about appropriate areas to put items they\'re disposing
  • Assist in manually sorting waste and waste dumped in incorrect areas
  • Conduct regular litter picking/machinery cleaning
  • Learn to identify higher value non-ferrous items for recovery
  • Operating a forklift as required
  • Performing additional yard duties as needed

What You\'ll Bring
  • Previous labouring experience - in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Valid driver\'s license
  • Construction White Card
  • Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention certificates
  • Forklift license is desirable
