About the role

CLPM Pty Ltd, a sector-specialist building company, is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing team. The role involves tendering and overseeing Heritage, public, and commercial construction projects, including new builds, restorations, and conservation works, with project values ranging from $100k to over $10m. The position offers career growth opportunities, including potential transition into a Project Management role for the right candidate. Immediate start available.

Key responsibilities:

  • Attend tender briefings and understand client requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and project documentation for tenders and quotations.
  • Analyze project labour, materials, and time requirements for accurate bidding.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, tradespeople, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Submit quotations and tenders by prescribed deadlines.
  • Ensure all quotation documents are accurately prepared using company-standard software and databases.
  • Create compelling tender submissions to demonstrate value.
  • Monitor project programmes and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Present project performance updates to senior management and clients.

Skills and competencies:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial/public sector estimating and tendering.
  • Strong technical and practical construction industry knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in estimating and construction management software, including MS Office and MS Project.
  • Degree or tertiary qualification in Building/Construction Management (desirable) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of architectural design values.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Current Australian driver's license.
  • Legal right to work in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa).

Compensation package includes earning up to $150k, plus car, phone, laptop, and superannuation.
