Location: Multiple Sites (Flexible Roster). Employment Type: Full-Time. Rosters: 24/7 availability required; shifts range from 4 to 12 hours.

Position Purpose

Cargo Screening Officer – Full Time | Immediate Start

The position requires the officer to perform cargo screening on freight by following the relevant SOPs and using the screening equipment provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cargo and freight screening according to SOPs
  • Operate X-Ray and ETD screening equipment
  • Monitor and interpret X-Ray images and detection equipment
  • Conduct physical inspections and searches of cargo
  • Maintain accurate screening records and documentation
  • Configure and correctly use screening equipment
  • Report and escalate safety or security incidents
  • Deliver excellent customer service during all interactions
Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Valid Security Licence
  • Previous screening experience (cargo or passenger)

Desirable

  • Experience with X-Ray and ETD screening equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable with flexible 24/7 rotating rosters
Certis Training and Progression

  • FREE Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) – fully funded by Certis (RTO ID 45583)
  • FREE uniform and onsite parking
  • Minimum 40 hours of On-the-Job Training
  • Ongoing upskilling via our Learning Management System (LMS)
  • To progress into a permanent role, you must successfully complete all training components and be deemed competent in making independent screening decisions
  • All training requirements are subject to regulatory and competency standards; employment may be terminated if inherent requirements are not met

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for screening of goods

Experience
  • At least 1 year screening experience
  • 1 year in a similar role
