As we diversify, we are looking for a Building Designer to play a key role in the development of growth. The Role:
Your role will be split into two key areas: 50% on design and product development, working on innovative new floor plans and facades, and 50% on production drafting, preparing documentation for regulatory approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a variety of residential projects, including detached homes, spec homes, and high-density developments.
- Prepare accurate and compliant BASIX, DA, CDC, and CC documentation, using CAD, in line with local regulations and company standards.
- Adapt and refine designs to improve buildability, market appeal, and innovation, ensuring homes remain relevant and functional.
- Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams to ensure the success of each project.
- Contribute to developer tenders, focusing on design quality and estate presentation.
About You:
- At least 3 years of experience in residential design and drafting, with a preference for candidates who have worked alongside senior designers in volume building.
- Proficiency in CAD is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction detailing, compliance, and the National Construction Code (NCC).
- Ability to problem-solve and address design challenges and site constraints.
- A self-motivated individual who works well independently but also enjoys being part of a team.
