Enrolled Nurse - Eye Outpatients Department, Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital

The outpatient department of Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital is seeking interested Enrolled Nurses to work in the outpatient department.

As an Enrolled Nurse in SESLHD, you will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of person-centred care; and support other nurses/ midwives and care roles. You will strive to ensure that the people who receive healthcare experience exceptional care that is person-centred, safe, high quality and compassionate.

You will be part of a team that strives to support each other to reach our potential, focus on what matters most and continue to be innovative in approaches to practice.

As an Enrolled Nurse in Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital, you will be encouraged to share your clinical expertise and further develop your practice with the professional development opportunities available.

As an Enrolled Nurse you will work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and retain responsibility for your own actions and remain accountable to the Registered Nurse for all allocated functions.

Where you'll be working

Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital is seeking interested Registered Nurses in joining the Nurse Bank. The Nurse Bank provides support across various services as a reliever.

Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is steeped in history, with a legacy of nursing and medical firsts to its credit and has paved the way in many clinical areas - both nationally and internationally.

Sydney Hospital is Australia's first hospital and dates from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.

Today, Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospitals' is a unique blend of general and specialist medical services for the public and community, including a 24 hour emergency services, general medicine including close observation unit, perioperative services, specialist hand and eye surgery.

Selection criteria

Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with Medication endorsement.Demonstrated recent clinical experience as an Enrolled Nurse that applies to Ophthalmology/Outpatient or a surgical clinical settingDemonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and be able to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.Current computer skills and ability to use health information systems.Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement person-centred practice.Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care.

Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.
