About the role :Reporting to the Advanced Nurse Unit Manager, this role supports the multi-disciplinary ophthalmic team in delivering patient-centred care, complying with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements. You will provide nursing care under the supervision of Registered Nurses, assist with ophthalmic procedures and diagnostic investigations, and contribute to efficient clinic flow and patient coordination.
Responsibilities include :- Providing ophthalmology outpatient care, including routine testing and procedures,
- Planning and completing nursing tasks within your scope of practice under the guidance of registered nurses,
- Delivering patient-centred nursing care responding to registered nurses' directions,
- Supporting ophthalmic procedures and investigations,
- Assisting with clinic flow and patient coordination.
- Registered or eligible for registration as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible for a current practicing certificate,
- Must have completed a Board-approved program of study including medication administration to administer medicines,
- Demonstrated competence in ophthalmology outpatient nursing tasks,
- Previous ophthalmology or outpatient care experience highly regarded,
- Strong communication and teamwork skills,
- Commitment to safe, respectful, and culturally responsive care,
- Proficiency in basic computer programs.
